(Mt. Prospect, IL) Vertec BioSolvents, Inc. has combined the safety and environmental benefits of a green solvent with the performance and price of a petrochemical solvent to introduce a family of corn-derived ethyl lactate products.

Competitively-priced compared to petrochemical solvents, Vertec solvents offer both an economical and practical solution for a wide range of applications. In formulated products such as paints, coatings and inks, for example, they provide high solvency power for various resins, polymers and dyes; high boiling point; low vapor pressure; low surface tension; good wetting properties for a wide variety of pigments; and good penetration in natural materials.   

Derived from corn, Vertec solvents are 100% biodegradable. They break down into only carbon dioxide and water; they are easy and inexpensive to recycle; they are EPA-approved SNAP (Significant New Alternative Policy Program) solvents; they are non ozone-depleting, non carcinogenic, non corrosive, not HAP (hazardous air pollutant) and not SARA (Superfund Amendment  Reauthorization Act) 313 reportable. There are no environmentally hazardous ingredients and no global warming compounds.
