(Mt. Prospect, IL) Vertec BioSolvents, Inc. offers a practical and more economical replacement for traditional ink cleaners. Marketed under the trademark Ink Zapper, this unique press and blanket wash combines high performance with safety and environmental benefits. 

Ink Zapper is a biobased product. Derived from corn and soybeans, it provides a sound alternative to petrochemical solvents.  Ink Zapper is 100% biodegradable and non-toxic, making it safer for employees to handle. It is non flammable (flash point 152 degrees F), contains no nonylphenol surfactants or compounds; no ODC’s (ozone-depleting chemicals), no HAP’s (hazardous air pollutants) and no GWC’s (global warming compounds). Ink Zapper is non carcinogenic and it is not SARA III (Superfund Amendment Reauthorization Act) reportable. Compared to other products, it has low vapor pressure, high loading capacity and lower VOC emissions. Its ingredients are E PA-SNAP (Significant New Alternative Policy Program) approved and it meets PNEAC (Printers National Environmental Assistance Guidelines).

Formulated specifically for the printing industry, Ink Zapper quickly dissolves hardened and dried ink, removes paper residues and lint, and efficiently cleans pipe rollers without water, eliminating the risk of rust or corrosion.  It also cleans plates without damaging images. What makes Ink Zapper more economical than other products is its stronger formula . Only 1/3 the amount of material (compared to conventional solvents) is needed to achieve better results, substantially reducing material cost, solvent disposal cost and the cost of waste disposal.

Additional savings are possible from less insurance risk, no hazardous shipping surcharges, lower VOC load and permit costs and less time and effort needed for cleaning. And where applicable, Ink Zapper can be mixed with water to reduce costs.
