Argonne, IL. A rigerous testing procedure began in Novermber at the Central Shops at Argonne National Laboratory. This testing will involve the use of VERTECBIO GOLD, a combined solvent of ethyl lactate and soy methyl ester, in parts degreasing applications.
VERTECBIO GOLD will be tested against other conventional solvents. Safety-Kleen, of Elgin, IL, provided the clean machines for the testing in a variety of manufacturing environments. The Central Shops employ about 65 people and have cleaning applications in milling, turning, traveling wire EDM, optics, welding, sheet metal fabrication, hot shop and machine maintenance repair.
