VERTEC™ is a ethyl lactate (ethyl alpha-hydroxy propionate) solvent. It is the ester of natural (L+) produced by fermentation from corn derived feedstock. VERTEC™ is a clear and colorless liquid of low volatility with a natural distinctive odor.
Lactate esters have found industrial applications in specialty coatings, inks, cleaners and straight use cleaning because of their high performance and versatility. They have an excellent safety and environmental record due to their organic origin, have very low toxicities and are readily biodegradable. See Applications for more information about product uses.
